Percussionist Qasim Naqvi has performed and collaborated with such artists
as Reggie Workman, Don Byron, Sam Rivers, Rob Reddy, Buster Williams,
Butch Morris,
Brandon Ross, Leanne Ledgerwood, Steve Bernstein, and Dave Pier. He has studied
with such artists as Ralph Peterson Jr., Leon Parker, Jeff Ballard, Joel
Ryan, Joe Chambers, Charlie Persip and Jamie Haddad.
Qasim has also composed music for various dance companies around the world.
He has collaborated with the Berlin based Butoh dance troop, Ten-Pen Chi, Israeli
based choreographer Yael Caravan, and prima ballerina for the Dance Theater
of Harlem, Tai Jimenez. He has scored music for HBO, The Discovery Channel
and PBS.
He recently completed a residency program at the Studio for Electro Acoustic
Instrumental Music in Amsterdam, and Harvest Works New Media Lab in electro-
instrumental prototyping.
