Writer and vocalist, Latasha N. Diggs rigorously explores sound through a myriad of macaronic verse, pre-recorded text and post human vocal processing.
She has performed and collaborated with Vernon Reid, DJ Logic, Quincy Troupe; Lawrence ‘Butch’ Morris and The Skyscraper Ensemble, DJ Little Louie Vega and the Nuyorican Soul Orchestra, Harriet Tubman fronted by Melvin Gibbs and Brandon Ross, Ori Kaplan, Edwin Torres, Carl Hancock Rux, and Guillermo E. Brown.
She has been featured on recordings by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Vernon Reid, Towa Tei, Billy Bass aka OG Funk, Domenico Ferrari, Mike Ladd, Guillermo E. Brown, and the compilation Eargasms: Hip-Hop Poetics, Volume 1.
Her poetry, music critiques and essays have been published in several magazines and journals including; Vibe, The Source, Ego Trip, Urb, Long Shot, Drum Voices Review, Black Music Review (Japan), Bum Rush the Page, Authentic Hair, and Greg Tate’s anthology; Everything but the Burden.
She is the author of two chapbooks, Ichi-Ban: from the files of negrita muneca morena linda and Ni-Ban: Villa Miseria.
A fellow of the Cave Canem Workshop for African American Poets, she was also a 2002 Artist in Residence at Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center and 2003 recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship.
